Step 1 — Redeem All Active Codes
Before your first combat encounter, open the Menu and navigate to the Codes tab. Enter each of the following codes to claim free rewards that will dramatically accelerate your early progress:
| Code | Reward | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1000CCUYAY | ×2 Stat EXP (30 min) | Activate right before your first grinding session |
| BIGBOOST1K | 10 Race/Trait Spins | Use immediately to lock in your Race |
| THANKSFORPLAYING | 3 Race/Trait Spins | Stack with BIGBOOST1K for more Race rolls |
| SHUTDOWNFORFIXES | 500 Gems + 3 Spins | Bank Gems for Soul resets later |
| RELEASE | ×2 Stat EXP (20 min) | Activate during your first grind session |
| 500CCU | ×2 Player Lvl EXP (30 min) | Activate while farming bosses or elites |
Then head to West City and find the Community Reward Gojo NPC. Enter LIMITLESSGIFT through the NPC dialogue (not the Codes menu) to receive 3 Boss Essences and 5 more Race/Trait Spins. This brings your total free Race rolls to 21 spins — enough to realistically land a Rare-tier race on most accounts.
Step 2 — Optimise Your Race
Your Race is an always-on passive bonus system that affects your stats for the entire game. Races range from Common to Legendary rarity, with higher rarities providing significantly larger stat amplifiers. After redeeming all your free spin codes, use the Race/Trait Spin system to reroll your Race. With 21 free spins, aim for at least Uncommon or Rare tier before committing to a long grinding session.
If you land a Rare or Legendary Race on your first batch of spins — keep it immediately and move on. If you land Common after all 21 spins, save your 500 Gems (3 additional resets at 150 Gems each) for a later reroll after you have more information about which Races are currently performing best. Do not spend all your Gems rerolling Race on day one — the Gems are also needed as a safety net for Soul resets.
The Race that benefits a speed-focused early build is particularly valuable because Soul spawn races reward the fastest character. Speed-passive Races give you a structural advantage in collecting world-spawned Souls before other players — a benefit that pays off indefinitely throughout the game.
Step 3 — First Stat Priorities
Anime Limitless separates Player Level EXP (which advances your overall character level toward the 500 cap) from Stat EXP (which fills individual stat categories like Strength, Speed, and Defense). Both matter, but Stat EXP is typically the harder grind because each stat has its own independent progression bar.
Strength
Strength is your primary damage stat. Almost all early-game combat is resolved faster with higher Strength, which accelerates your EXP gain per unit of time because you kill enemies quicker. Level Strength first until your basic attack kills the starting enemies in two hits or fewer, then begin splitting investment with Speed.
Speed
Speed serves two distinct functions in Anime Limitless. First, it affects your movement speed — which directly determines your ability to win Soul spawn races. Second, Speed feeds into attack speed calculations for certain move types. Neglecting Speed entirely in early game means you will consistently lose Soul spawns to other players, keeping you on the Starter Soul for longer and falling behind in the most important progression mechanic in the game.
Defense
Defense becomes meaningfully relevant when you start pushing into Zones 2 and 3, where enemy attacks deal damage that can interrupt farming sessions. During the first zone, enemy damage is low enough that Defense investment has diminishing returns. Add Defense points once your Strength and Speed feel adequate for the content you are running.
Haki
Unlock Haki as soon as you meet the level requirement — do not skip or delay this. Haki provides multiplicative bonuses to your combat output rather than additive ones, which means its value scales with all your other stat investments simultaneously. A character with moderate base stats plus Haki will consistently outperform a character with high base stats but no Haki. The Haki trainer is in West City. Unlocking it is one of the two or three most important single actions in the early game.
Step 4 — Understanding Soul Spawns
Souls are the most powerful character upgrade in Anime Limitless. They spawn across the game's islands every 30 minutes and disappear after 20 minutes. When a Soul spawns, a visible marker appears at the location and all nearby players race to collect it — only the first player to reach it wins.
Your Starter Soul is functional but weak. Replace it as soon as possible by winning a Soul spawn race. To maximise your odds:
- Invest in Speed before chasing spawns — it is the primary determinant of who wins the race.
- Learn where Souls commonly spawn in your starting zone and position yourself centrally between them.
- Keep a rough mental clock on the 30-minute spawn cycle. When 25 minutes have passed since the last spawn, start moving toward common spawn areas.
- A Rare or better Soul is worth resetting your slot for — use 150 Gems from the SHUTDOWNFORFIXES code to clear your current Soul before the spawn timer runs out.
See the full Soul guide and How to Get Souls for detailed spawn strategies.
Step 5 — Your First Boss Encounter
Boss encounters are the primary source of upgrade materials in Anime Limitless. Every Boss drops specific materials that feed into gear enhancement and Soul-adjacent progression. The first bosses accessible in the zones around West City are tuned for characters in the Level 20–40 range with moderate Strength investment.
Before attempting your first Boss:
- Activate one of your EXP boost codes (RELEASE or 1000CCUYAY) immediately before the fight to maximise the EXP gained from the encounter.
- Ensure your Haki is unlocked — it noticeably increases your damage output and makes the first bosses significantly easier.
- Bring the Boss Essences from the LIMITLESSGIFT code — these are mid-game materials but collecting them early means you enter the enhancement phase with a head start.
See the Bosses guide for full drop tables and recommended power levels for each encounter.
Fastest Path to Mid-Game
Players who follow this sequence consistently reach mid-game power levels in a fraction of the time compared to those who explore without direction:
- Redeem all 7 codes + NPC code
- Use 21 free Race spins — aim for Rare or better Race
- Level Strength and Speed to comfortable Zone 1 combat
- Unlock Haki as soon as eligible
- Win first Soul spawn race — replace Starter Soul
- Activate EXP boost codes during dedicated grinding sessions
- Clear Zone 1 bosses for first upgrade materials
- Push to Zone 2 and begin the mid-game stat grind
Common Beginner Mistakes
- Redeeming EXP codes immediately on login — Wait until you are actively grinding to activate timed boosts, otherwise the timer runs while you navigate menus.
- Ignoring Speed — Players who skip Speed consistently lose Soul spawn races and stay on weak Souls for much longer than necessary.
- Skipping Haki — The multiplicative nature of Haki makes it one of the highest-value upgrades in the game. There is no reason to delay it.
- Spreading stats too thin — Putting a few points into every stat feels balanced but results in a character that is mediocre at everything. Concentrate investment early.
- Missing the NPC code — The LIMITLESSGIFT key is not in the Codes menu. Many players never find the Gojo NPC in West City and miss 5 free Race Spins and 3 Boss Essences.
